Rick Ceh currently teaches drawing and painting courses and Advanced Placement Drawing and Painting. He is also a painter working primarily in oil and acrylic realism. He graduated from the University of Illinois Circle campus. He taught at Lake View High School before coming to Lane.
Elizabeth Chisholm teaches Art 1 at Lane. She holds a Masters in Art Education from Columbia College in Chicago, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan where she concentrated on drawing, painting and printmaking. Prior to teaching at Lane she was the art teacher at Coonley Elementary in Chicago. For the past seven years, she has also been a teaching artist for organizations such as Marwen and After School Matters. Marjorrie Custodio (Department Chair) teaches LTAC 7th Grade Art and Honors Art Film Studies at Lane. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Illinois State University and continued her education in Florence, Italy studying art history, printmaking, and sculpture. Ms. Custodio later received her Master’s degree from Concordia University Chicago specializing in best practices for instructing ELL students. She previously taught in the south suburbs of Chicago for nine years before coming to Lane in 2012-13. MCCustodio@cps.edu
Amy Diamond teaches Honors Digital Imaging II (Digital Photography) and AP Studio Art 2D Graphic Design. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and her Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Liana Faletto teaches Art I and Printmaking at Lane Tech. She studied Art and Art Education at DePaul University where she received her degree and certification. Working primarily in oil painting and printmaking, Liana continues to show work within the Chicago art community.
Kristina Simanis-Laimins currently teaches Advanced Textile Fiber Art I and Advanced Textile Fiber Art 2. She received her BFA degree from California College of the Arts where she specialized in textiles, ceramics and glass. She received her Masters of Education from the College of New Jersey. Mrs. Simanis-Laimins has shown her ceramic art in the U.S. and abroad. She is proud of her Baltic heritage and serves as the chairman of the on-profit Latvian Foundation Inc. and writes a monthly editorial column for the Latvian community. Kristina loves to quilt, see and create ceramics. She also loves to travel and considers learning new languages a favorite hobby.
Sarah Wain teaches Art I and AP Art History at Lane. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. Since then, Mrs. Wain has taught art to public school students in Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Wain pursues a freelance career as an oil painter. She has exhibited her paintings in numerous venues throughout the Midwest.
Joseph Wilcox teaches Photography, Mixed Media, and AP 2-D Design (Photography) at Lane. He has a BFA in Art Education from Kendall College of Art and Design and an MFA in Visual Arts from the Lesley University College of Art and Design. He has previously taught photography and art at various non-profits, schools, and colleges in Illinois, Michigan, and the Pacific Northwest. He primarily makes photo-based work and self-publishes his own zines and books which are sold at independent bookstores in Chicago including Quimby’s and 826CHI.
Michael Morrison teaches Film Studies and Art I at Lane. He received his Bachelors of Art from Columbia College Chicago in Film & Video and his Masters of Education from DePaul University. Prior to teaching at Lane, he worked collaborate on several film and television productions in Los Angeles CA. He also works in photography, primarily focusing on street photography. His photographs have been shown in several galleries and art spaces in the Chicago area.
